Serenity has long been a supporter of the Phuket has been good to us charity foundation and its latest fund raiser is certainly unique!
Mark Cameron and Graham Haslam are attempting to set a Guinness world record for
driving an electric golf cart from Pattaya to Phuket, on behalf of the local charity. For those of you who are not so familiar with Thailand’s geography, that is approximately 1,400 kilometres through 9 different provinces!
Dubbed “The Longest Drive”, the record attempt started on 8 May at The Hard Rock Cafe Pattaya and is set to take up to 24 days to complete, with the finishing party at Hard Rock Cafe Phuket on 8 April. In order to complete a journey of this magnitude, the golf cart is fitted with 6 8-volt Trojan batteries, which deliver an amazing 95 kilometres per day
The record attempt has received great support from Phuket and around Thailand and have recently passed the 1 million Thai Baht mark for the Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation.
The Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation works to give local young people a chance to improve their economic situation and create opportunities by funding high quality English language education in underprivileged schools in Phuket. More than 1,000 children in 3 local schools have benefited from the foundations work to date.
The Serenity Team is proud to support our local community and joining the local blood drive is just one of our worthy causes. Together with several other local hotels and resorts, a team from Serenity Resort & Residences volunteered to donate blood with the Thai Red Cross which supports local Hospitals in Phuket. The blood drive takes place every 4 months and is a cause which we are proud to be associated with.
Doctors and surgeons throughout Phuket rely on blood donations with the Thai Red Cross to carry out life-saving and life-enhancing treatments and surgeries.
Serenity Team members from many different departments volunteered, including our Reservations Manager (Khun Oil), Financial Controller (Khun Tang), events coordinator (Khun Mook) and many more!

We would like to inform you that the current political situation in Thailand following the military coup by the army does not substantially affect the daily life of the local population nor tourists in the country.
Thailand and Phuket especially are safe to visit and people are going about their daily business as normal.
Please check with our team with regards to the rules imposed by the nightly curfew in case it is in effect in the province you are visiting.
Travel to and from the airport for example is exempt from the curfew and equally so is travel related to medical emergencies.
No army personnel is patrolling the streets of Phuket. If you are stopped or questioned by any authorities, please remain calm and follow their instructions.
We do not expect this situation to change dramatically in the coming days and remain confident that you will enjoy your holidays in Phuket and Thailand.

Thailand celebrated National Children’s day on 11th January and Serenity joined the celebrations. Children’s Day in Thailand or ‘Wan Dek’ is a magical day where families come together to spend time with children and do fun things.
Phuket’s Children can enjoy tours of official government buildings, military aircraft and ships, with many businesses providing fee entry to local attractions and places of interest.
To mark the occasion, the Serenity team took this opportunity to give something back to our local community:
Serenity donates Bicycles for local underprivileged children for Children’s Day
The Serenity team (above) led by our General Manager Urs Aebi (centre) with our Executive Housekeeper Ms. Ying (right) donated gift for underprivileged children of the local Rawai community. The donation was received by the local representative.

In light of the recent political protests in Bangkok, for those planning a visit to Phuket in the near future, we thought it might be a good idea to put your minds at ease.
Non-violent demonstrations are currently taking place in specific and confined parts of central Bangkok and do not extend to Phuket and most of the other provinces in Thailand. Phuket, and Thailand as a whole, is still a safe and welcoming place to visit and the demonstrations will not in any way prevent you from fully enjoying your well earned, relaxing stay at Serenity Resort & Residences.
If you have any concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our Reservations team at email@example.com or by phone at (+66) 76 371 900.
