Bomb Blast in Bangkok

Edward Kennedy   |   August 18, 2015   |   News & Features   |   0 Comments

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and relatives of the bomb blast in central Bangkok that killed more than 20 persons and injured over 100.

At this stage it is not clear who is responsible for the attack and the authorities have not issued any statements as to whom may be behind this tragedy.

Attacks like this are extremely rare in the Kingdom of Thailand.

Some foreign governments have come out  with travel advisories for Bangkok and Thailand and advised their citizens to be alert or avoid mass gatherings of people, but no actual travel restrictions have been issued.

The airports are operating normally and guests should not experience any delays when travelling in and out of the country.

Should you visit Bangkok in the upcoming days, we recommend that you avoid the area around Rachaprasong Intersection and the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel in Bangkok’s Chidlom district, where the blast took place on the evening of 17 August.

Otherwise the city of Bangkok appears to function as usual.

Please contact your local embassy or follow the media coverage for any further updates and make sure you follow all instructions by the local authorities.

driving an electric golf cart from Pattaya to Phuket, on behalf of the local charity. For those of you who are not so familiar with Thailand’s geography, that is approximately 1,400 kilometres through 9 different provinces!

The record attempt has received great support from Phuket and around Thailand and have recently passed the 1 million Thai Baht mark for the Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation.

Thailand and Phuket is Safe to Visit following the Military Coup

Edward Kennedy   |   May 23, 2014   |   News & Features   |   0 Comments

We would like to inform you that the current political situation in Thailand following the military coup by the army does not substantially affect the daily life of the local population nor tourists in the country.

Thailand and Phuket especially are safe to visit and people are going about their daily business as normal.

Please check with our team with regards to the rules imposed by the nightly curfew in case it is in effect in the province you are visiting.

Travel to and from the airport for example is exempt from the curfew and equally so is travel related to medical emergencies.

No army personnel is patrolling the streets of Phuket. If you are stopped or questioned by any authorities, please remain calm and follow their instructions.

We do not expect this situation to change dramatically in the coming days and remain confident that you will enjoy your holidays in Phuket and Thailand.

UPDATE 06/06/2014: Curfew in Phuket Lifted and (Night)Live back to normal!

We are happy to inform our guests that the curfew imposed following the military coup in Thailand has been lifted for Phuket and daily (night)life resumes as normal! Enjoy your holidays!

Political Demonstrations in Bangkok

Edward Kennedy   |   November 27, 2013   |   News & Features   |   0 Comments

In light of the recent political protests in Bangkok, for those planning a visit to Phuket in the near future, we thought it might be a good idea to put your minds at ease.

Non-violent demonstrations are currently taking place in specific and confined parts of central Bangkok and do not extend to Phuket and most of the other provinces in Thailand. Phuket, and Thailand as a whole, is still a safe and welcoming place to visit and the demonstrations will not in any way prevent you from fully enjoying your well earned, relaxing stay at Serenity Resort & Residences.

If you have any concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our Reservations team at or by phone at (+66) 76 371 900.
