The Serenity Destination Guide

Thailand celebrated National Children’s day on 11th January and Serenity joined the celebrations. Children’s Day in Thailand or ‘Wan Dek’ is a magical day where families come together to spend time with children and do fun things.

Phuket’s Children can enjoy tours of official government buildings, military aircraft and ships, with many businesses providing fee entry to local attractions and places of interest.

To mark the occasion, the Serenity team took this opportunity to give something back to our local community:

Serenity donates Bicycles for local underprivileged children for Children’s Day

The Serenity team (above) led by our General Manager Urs Aebi (centre) with our Executive Housekeeper Ms. Ying (right) donated gift for underprivileged children of the local Rawai community. The donation was received by the local representative.

Political Demonstrations in Bangkok

Edward Kennedy   |   November 27, 2013   |   News & Features   |   0 Comments

In light of the recent political protests in Bangkok, for those planning a visit to Phuket in the near future, we thought it might be a good idea to put your minds at ease.

Non-violent demonstrations are currently taking place in specific and confined parts of central Bangkok and do not extend to Phuket and most of the other provinces in Thailand. Phuket, and Thailand as a whole, is still a safe and welcoming place to visit and the demonstrations will not in any way prevent you from fully enjoying your well earned, relaxing stay at Serenity Resort & Residences.

If you have any concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our Reservations team at rsvn@serenityphuket.com or by phone at (+66) 76 371 900.

‘Songkran’, which means “to pass/move into” in ancient Sanskrit, is the name given to the annual Thai festival, which celebrates the ‘Thai New Year’. Songkran is a nationwide holiday and is a time when younger generations pay respect to the elder generations by sprinkling their hands with water.

Expect to see hundreds of people in the streets throwing water at each other, which is symbolises wishing someone ‘good luck’ for the coming year…during April, the hottest month of the year, you will be grateful for the splash! Songkran is a wonderful day for families and friends to get together and a truly memorable occasion for tourists.

When is Songkran
