As we know, the main sport here in Thailand is Muay Thai. For us westerners, that means kickboxing with a twist. Muay Thai is part of the culture and is highly well regarded. As soon as kids can walk, they are taught the art of Muay Thai. It is what they grow up on and become a huge chunk of the Thai’s work and livelihood. We’ve all heard the word mindfulness and know that meditation is the latest buzz these days, but what does being mindful actually mean? Meditation isn’t just sitting in a dark room, crossing your legs, closing your eyes and humming for hours on end. Meditation is a form of mindfulness which helps us escape the present and enter a deeper mental state. It’s a state where we can block out background noise, turn down the chatter in our heads and just be still.

Thailand is known for one very special animal, the elephant. Elephants are probably one of the most beloved animals of all time. Huge in stature, yet kind and caring in nature. Known to be man’s best friend. However sadly elephants in Thailand are often mistreated. They are commonly used for amusement in the circus, used as rides for the tourists or even worse, abused and killed for their ivory tusks. It’s up to us to help save the elephants and bring them back to their natural habitat. They can’t speak up, but we can speak up for them.
