Seen the videos of the CrossFit games and think it’s just for the gifted? Think again. Yes the real athletes of CrossFit may seem superhuman, but they all started somewhere, right? Lucky for us, CrossFit is on our doorstep… so we can all become CrossFit junkies in no time. 

What is CrossFit?

With a combination of olympic lifting and cardio based movements, CrossFit is mix of constantly varied functional movements performed at high-intensity. The CrossFit formula is copied and pasted all over the world, so you know exactly what you’re going to get no matter where you are on the map. The classes are comprised of WOD’s (Workout Of The Day). Each day focuses on a different skill or movement, followed by a quick HIIT workout to get you sweaty. Only lasting 1 hour from start to finish, you can kiss those long slogs in the gym goodbye.

Who can do CrossFit?

Anyone! I know what you’re thinking… “there’s no way I’d ever be able to do that”. We’ve heard it all before. Truth is, really anyone and everyone can do CrossFit. You’re not expected to learn all the olympic lifts and specific movements overnight. It takes time, like anything in life. Persistence, motivation and dedication is all your need.

CrossFit is a sport that is now coming to the forefront of every city. There are CrossFit boxes all over the world but the key is finding the right trainers. The trainers are at the forefront of any gym and are what make it so special and unique. They’re the ones who will be teaching you and will be getting you from good to great. So choose wisely. The CrossFit athletes are the experts, so if you can learn with them, you’re winning.

CrossFit is a sport that involves all round movements, from cardio training to strength training and everything in between. You’ll improve your stamina, your strength, your mindset, physique and your own self belief. What once seemed impossible will soon be a breeze. You will be challenged during every class. You body will be pushed beyond its limits. You mind will grow and learn to believe. Not only will you improve your overall physical and mental abilities, you’ll also become part of a very special community. CrossFit is a close community, almost tribe like.
