No longer is phuket that desolate island just filled with sandy beaches and street bars. Far from it! Phuket is now investing in its infrastructure and is becoming one of the top tourist destinations in the world. Here are three of our favourite Phuket upgrades that we’re currently loving.
- Central Phuket.
For years, Phuket was limited for shopping choices. There were shopping malls but these were small and never stocked the latest brands. However lucky for us, this has now changed with the brand new Central Phuket shopping mall. This mall is an addition to the pre-existing Central Festival Phuket mall. Opened only a few weeks ago, this mall has got everything you could dream of and more. With its stunning architecture and modern look, plus a food court that goes on for days. Including cutting edge brands and even an Aston Martin showroom too. This place has definitely taken Phuket to the next level.
- Phuket International Airport.
Phuket has finally gone international! For years we were stuck with a simple domestic airport that limited our travel options. However in 2014 this all changed after the opening of Phuket International Airport. With hundreds of flights taking off daily flying all over the world, this place has finally made Phuket as easy travel destination.
- Road Improvements.
We all know that Thai roads aren’t the safest, the third most dangerous in the world in fact. However the Thai government is making big efforts to improve the quality of the roads here in Phuket, which in effect will improve our drivers too. Anyone who lives in Phuket will know the hassle of driving from Chao Fah south to Chao Fah north. However this is all for a good reason as they work away to create the new underpass at Chalong Circle. This may cause traffic now, but in 2019 we sure will be grateful for it!
